Day 1 in Stockholm was awesome. Apparently we have arrived in the coldest weekend in June in 84 years, but we're still having a fantastic time. I have my umbrella.

We started off by wandering around the streets of Södermalm where we are staying. Joe had scoped out some places for coffee stops which were delicious. We then wandered up through Gamla Stan which is the old town. We saw the Royal Palace and the guards and some lovely old buildings.
We caught a tram to the 'Vasa Museet' which is a museum about a boat that sank in the 1600's. The actual boat is in there and it was pretty interesting, even though it was just about a boat. I think Joe liked that one a bit more then me - although it is the most popular tourist attraction in all of Scandanavia... its a bit lost on me.

We had a lovely dinner at a restaurant called 'Hermans' recommended by Susie. It was a vegetarian buffet and was in a beautiful setting.

Now we're trying to figure out the best way to spend our last day here.

Well, the Scandanavians were all about their boats... although I learnt something really interesting about Vikings the other day... did you know they were mostly agriarian and not a sea based people... which you wouldn't expect seeing all I think of when I think Vikings is those boats with curly ends and hats with horns like in Asterix... and Eric from TrueBlood :P
